First Easter is a big day

Meagan was quite the socialite on her first Easter. She got all dressed up and took her first long car ride to Ashland. She was very good on the trip, sleeping all the way. She got to meet her Great Gramp in Ashland for the first time and despite the photo, she was a very polite guest. Mom and Dad then took little one home where she had a wardrobe change and went over to the Carrabine's for Easter Dinner and she got to meet her great uncle Jim. She hung in for a late night out (830!) and then called it a night and returned home. Meagan has been eating well and is now supplementing with bottles a couple of times a day. It has also been reported (though not witnessed by anyone but mom) that she rolled over onto her back all by herself a couple of days ago. This has not been repeated as of yet, so dad will wait for photographic or video evidence to corroborate this reported event. Mom and Meagan have been out and about with a couple of trips to the mall. Little girl is going to pick up Mom's shopping habits early I guess.

Nurse visit

Meagan had a visit today from a traveling nurse set up by Lake County. She was checked from head to toe and passed her exam with flying colors. Her weight is now up to 8 pounds, 11 ounces. She is peacefully sleeping now, perhaps recovering from her wild night St Patricks day. Mom and dad have been lucky the last few nights with her sleeping as she has only awakened when hungry. The weather has also allowed Mom and Meagan to do a quick tour around the neighborhood in the stroller. Meagan took it all in stride, sleeping through the whole journey.

Meagan's first bath (PG version) Posted by Hello

Meagan's first bath

Meagan was initiated to bathing today - and as you can see from the attached photo, she loved every minute of it. Dad and mom had hoped that this would go a little better than the sponge bath, but so far Meagan strongly objects to water on skin. We hope she will adjust to this as not bathing will definetly impact her future social life. An apres bath weigh in clocked Meagan in at 8 pounds so she certainly has not been objecting to eating!

Meagan loses something

Meagan had a big day yesterday, finally losing her cord stump! Mom and dad are very happy as this will make the frequent diaper changes easier and much more comfortable for Meagan. It also resolves a rather embarassing situation for little Meagan as the stump had become quite "fragratnt" over the last several days. Mom and dad had been considering a cover up scent for little girl if it did not fall off soon. Meagan has now decided that the afternoon will be her fussy time but is sleeping soundly between feedings at night which means good sleeping for dad! meagan is looking forward to celebrating her first St Patricks day this week (I suspect a photo op here) and hanging out with dad on the weekend. Meagan collected an abundance of gifts this week from family and friends she would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their generosity. She is now the best equipped baby in the land!

Meagan entertains

Meagan has had her hands full entertaining at the house the last few days. Mom had some difficulties and had to spend most of the day Thursday at the hospital - she is all better now, but for the day - Meagan had to entertain 3 grandparents a cousin and an aunt. From all accounts, she was the perfect host. She also had to divert to formula for a couple of days while her mom recovered and took to it famously. She appears to have inherited her appetitie and indiscriminate taste from dad and had no problem switching from nursing to formula and back again. Meagan got to entertain again on Saturday when grandpa and grandma Raubenolt came by with great grandma Raubenolt. Meagan was evidently bored with the scene as she slept the entire visit away. Her face has lost all of it's charming yellow coloring, thank goodness, and she continues to get better at sleeping in her crib between feedings at night.

Meagan, life of the party Posted by Hello

First social outing

Meagan had her first trip out socially today with a trip to the Carrabine's house. She was quite good on her visit and did not seem too excited by all the commotion- sleeping through almost the entire event. She is like most little ones and is put to sleep the moment she gets latched into her car seat. Meagan is becoming more and more accustomed to sleeping in her crib - much to the delight of mom and dad. Her appetite remains good and she seems to be settling into a normal day and night schedule (for now).
